Summer Opportunities Guide

We may be experiencing yet another snow day, but it is already time to begin making plans for summer activities for our kids. The Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis just posted their Summer Opportunities Guide for St. Louis City, St. Louis County & St. Charles County Residents with Developmental Disabilities. This 16 page guide is full of summer day camps, overnight camps, arts programs, sports programs and information on accessible playgrounds and inclusion activities at local parks. This is a terrific resource that I look forward to each year.

The St. Louis ARC is hosting a Summer Programs workshop on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:30 with presentations by Susan Fleming, Director of Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis and Rhonda Hembree, Assistant Director of Leisure Services, St. Louis Arc. For more information and to RSVP, contact Brianne Smith by email at bsmith@slarc.org or call 314-817-2216.

The Recreation Council is also hosting a What to Do This Summer workshop in partnership with Special School District of St. Louis on February 19, 2014, at 6:30 pm at Special School District’s Administrative Offices, 12110 Clayton Road, Room 60, in Town and Country, MO¬† 63131. The Recreation Council will give an overview of opportunities and voucher availability followed by time to visit with representatives from many area camps and activities programs.
