Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis

The Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis is a great source of information on recreation, camp, socialization and leisure activities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Recreation Council provides a newsletter highlighting agencies, camps and organizations that provide activities your child may be interested in attending. You can find their newsletter sign up here. They also provide a Summer Opportunities Guide with 16 pages full of information on day camps, overnight camps, events, sports and classes offered this summer.

The Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis also offers several voucher programs, including vouchers for residential camp, recreation support, after school support and adventure opportunities. It’s important to apply early for these voucher programs as they have a limited number of vouchers available each year.

The Recreation Council works with local parks departments to provide inclusive recreation opportunities. The Recreation Council works with bike rental facilities to provide adaptive rental bicycles through their Cycle Program. Finally, the Recreation Council’s website has a wonderful Resource Directory with links to agencies, camps, therapy facilities and other opportunities.
