This website is designed to help families in the St. Louis area and beyond find the resources they need to continue to improve the lives of their differently-abled children. Many of the resources found here, including information on iPad apps, equipment, toy ideas and accessibility, can help parents outside of the St. Louis area. However, the service providers, sports, events and activities listed will be local.
STLSpecialNeeds.com is maintained by a mom. I’m not a therapist or doctor (and I don’t even play one on TV) so any equipment or AAC/AT resources provided here are just for information sake, not as a recommendation for your specific child. Always consult with your doctor or therapists to determine what might work best for your child.
Check back often as we will continue to add new resources and information. The idea for this website arose out of the desire to have a central hub for all of the events and information that comes our way. As we learn about new services and resources, we will pass those along to you.
We would love to receive your comments to help us grow the resources on this website. If you have found a particular therapy, local charity, assistive technology equipment, iPad app, financing option or piece of equipment to be especially beneficial, please let us know through the comments section after each post.
If you would like to receive the latest article updates from this site, you can subscribe by email by clicking on the envelope in the Subscription Options area in the right hand column, or follow us with your favorite RSS reader.
